When I began my business, I had one goal in mind: to help organizations use communications as a powerful tool to ignite positive change in the US and around the world.  I am based in Washington, DC and leverage my broad range of experience, expertise and network of skilled specialists to design and execute proven, practical, and results-oriented communications and advocacy strategies.

EXPERIENCED AND CONNECTED.  I bring 25 years of experience in leadership positions working with large and small nonprofits, foundations, government and international agencies, corporations, and public-private partnerships.  I specialize in global health and development, and have worked with such organizations as Save the Children, InterAction, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, PBS, the United Nations and UN Foundation, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Ocean Conservancy, and PEPFAR (the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief).  I have served on many boards and committees, including the Executive Committee of the Global Health Council, Chair of the Public Policy and Communications Committee of the US Coalition for Child Survival, Media Chair of the Environmental Inaugural Ball, Chair of the Senior Global Communicators Group, Vice Chair of the National Advisory Council for George Washington University at Mount Vernon Campus, Working Group Member of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Narrative Project, and a Founder and Co-Chair of the Sustainability Communicators Network. Most recently, I was appointed to the Board of Directors of the George Washington University Alumni Association.  My work has received recognition including the Superior Performance Award from USAID, Award of Achievement from the Natural Resources Council of America, the Totem Award from the Public Relations Society of America, and the President’s Leadership Award from Save the Children.

IGNITING ACTION ON IMPORTANT ISSUES.   I have worked on many high-profile issue campaigns, resulting in increased support for maternal, newborn and child health; HIV and AIDS; protection of women and children in war and crisis; gender equality; reproductive health and rights; environmental conservation; economic opportunity; health workforce strengthening; international development assistance; and basic education for all.

BUILDER OF PARTNERSHIPS AND COALITIONS.  Change comes about by bringing champions together for the cause.  I help identify, recruit, and motivate people and organizations of diverse backgrounds and interests to accelerate progress and create real and lasting change.  I have also helped form and lead many coalitions, including the US Network for Cairo/ICPD, the Frontline Health Workers Coalition, and the NGO group for the UN Women’s Conference in Beijing.

DOGGEDLY DETERMINED.  I possess a can-do attitude, and work tirelessly to get things done and help you achieve your desired outcomes.  I deeply care about your mission, and my passion and impatience for progress is contagious!

RELIABLE.  I am not just progress-driven, but deadline-driven, too.  You can count on me to get the job done, get it done well, and get it done on time.

CREATIVE AND COST-EFFECTIVE.   Issues are complex. Communications and technologies are rapidly changing.  Budgets and time are stretched like never before.   I use evidence-based strategies and solutions that work, that are memorable, and that are affordable.
